Hindi fonts let you type and print text in Devanagari, the script used for Hindi, Marathi, Nepali and Sanskrit. Many of the most downloaded fonts here are legacy, non-Unicode fonts such as Kruti Dev 010, DevLys 010, Shusha, Agra and Shivaji: they map Hindi letters to the keys of an English keyboard, so you type with the Remington layout and the text only displays correctly while that font is selected. They are still required for many government typing tests, printing presses and older documents. For websites, apps and documents you share, prefer a Unicode Devanagari font, which works with the standard Hindi keyboard on Windows, Mac and phones. The category also includes some Gujarati, Punjabi (Gurmukhi), Tamil and Malayalam fonts.
